WHAT A WONDERFUL SITE I'M CURRENT LOOKING INTO MY GRANDFATHERS SERVICE HISTORY CECIL ADRIAN LOGAN WHO SERVE ON THE HMAS PERTH FROM HER COMMISIONING TO THE 10TH OCTOBER 1941.HE WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES, ALTHOUGH HE WAS IN DARWIN HARBOUR ON THE HMAS KARANGI DURING THE JAPANESE BOMBING'S.

In memory of my Father, Donald William McNab and all the gallant men who served on the ship. I wish I had more knowledge and insight of the horrific battle and time endured in prison of war camp. Being from his first marriage after the war I have nothing of my fathers. If any one has pictures or article's i would really appreciate anything to pass onto my own grandsons. Tara

To the brave men of the HMAS Perth (D29), for showing espirit de corps and setting such a fine example of service, both under fire and in the crucible of captivity. To the families of those lost, in the Sunda Sea and in the clutches of the Imperial Japanese Army, in recognition of their sacrifice.

Hello to all, Have just discovered your site. I am doing my Family Tree and found that my Grandmother's cousin Richard Nicholas McConnell was a Petty Officer on the Perth when she went down in the Sunda Straits in WW2 and died as a POW 30/03/1945 being buried at Yokohama Cemetery Japan. If anyone would have any info, photos on him or his family, would love to hear from u. I loved reading the comments. It keeps the spirit alive. Shirley
